Carl A. Ambrose

          Carl A. Ambrose, 64, of St. Paul died Saturday, May 07, 2016 at the Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul.

          Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elba.  Father Rayappa Konka will officiate.  Inurnment will be in Elmwood Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

          Visitation will be on Thursday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul with a wake service at 7:00 p.m.

          Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.

          Mr. Ambrose was born October 26, 1951 in St. Paul to Milton and Esther (Jonak) Ambrose.

          He was raised near Elba and attended Elba Schools where he graduated in 1970.  Carl then attended Central Community College in Hastings.

          Carl was united in marriage to Barbara Nelson on October 14, 1972 in Grand Island.

          He worked in commercial construction for most of his life.  The couple first lived in Grand Island and then Elba.  They moved to Buckeye, Arizona in 1986, moving to St. Paul in 2014 where he lived for the remainder of his life.

          Carl enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

          He was a lifelong member of the Catholic Faith.

          Survivors include his wife, Barbara of St. Paul; two sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Marina Ambrose of Phoenix and David and Chelsea Ambrose of Avondale, AZ; his mother, Esther Ambrose of St. Paul; a brother, Craig Ambrose of St. Paul; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Michelle Boyle of Port Pirie, South Australia and Beverly and Michael Fitzsimmons of Dannebrog; a sister-in-law, Linda Ambrose of Yutan; mother-in-law, Bonnie Nelson and sister-in-law, Judy Nelson both of Genoa; and nieces and nephews.

          He is preceded in death by his father, Milton; a brother, Joe; father-in-law, Elmer Nelson and sister-in-law, Pam Nelson.
