Leon L. Greenwalt

March 3, 1961 ~ April 30, 2017 (age 56) 56 Years Old

          Leon L. Greenwalt, 56, of rural St. Libory died Sunday, April 30, 2017.

          Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Austin Cemetery near Rockville.  Father Martin Egging will officiate.

          Visitation will be on Friday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.

          A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island with Father Martin Egging officiating.

          Memorials are suggested to the family for support of Leon’s children.

          Leon is the son of Virgil and Shirley (Arnold) Greenwalt.  He was born on March 3, 1961 in Grand Island.  He grew up on the family farm with brothers Larry and Loren in St Libory, NE.

          He graduated from Central Catholic High School, was baptized and confirmed at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

          Leon married Amy Lehman and they had three children, Jessica of Calif., Johnathan and Justin of Arkansas.

          Leon worked several years in Calif as a welding contractor.

          In 2006, he married Cyndi Camacho and together they have five children, Zachary, Kaitlyn, Wyatt, Lilah and Levi.

          Leon bought a farm in Taylor, NE where they farmed for several years as well as the family farm at St. Libory. This past year Leon had moved to Salem, Oregon and continued to farm the family farm in St. Libory.

          Leon is survived by his wife, Cyndi of Salem, OR; children, Jessica, Jonathan, Justin, Zachry, Kaitlyn, Wyatt, Lilah and Levi; his mother, Shirley Greenwalt of St. Libory; brother and sister-in-law Larry and Holly Greenwalt; nephew Daniel Greenwalt and his wife Becca and their children, Paige and Avery; brother and sister-in-law Loren and Kris Greenwalt and their children Nicole, Greg and Eric; aunt Patricia Brahatchek and a cousin Melvin Brahatchek.

          Leon is preceded in death by his father, Virgil: maternal grandparents, Wanda and Phil Stiles, and paternal grandparents, Gertrude and Frank Greenwalt; as well as an uncle Raymond Brahatchek.

          Leon left this world believing in God’s Loving Kindness and Forgiveness.
