          Mary Ellen Reimers, 60, of Boelus died Saturday, June 24, 2017 at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney.   

          Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at St. Josaphat Catholic Church in Loup City.  Father Richard Piontkowski will celebrate the Mass.  Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Rockville.

          Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the church.

          Memorials are suggested to the Boelus Fire & Rescue or Hereditary Neurological Disease Centre in Wichita, KS.

          Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.

          Mary was born December 8, 1956 in Loup City to Leonard and Adeline (Mrkvicka) Lewandowski.

          She attended grade school in Chapman and Elba, then Centura High School where she graduated in 1975.  Mary attended and graduated from Peru State College in 1980.

          She worked in the fabric department in Shopko, as a deli clerk at Skagway for sixteen years and then at Sun Mart for eight years.

          She was united in marriage to Jerome Reimers on October 10, 1992 at St. Josaphat Catholic Church in Loup City.

          Mary was a past member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Altar Society in Rockville.  She was currently a member of St. Josaphat’s Catholic Church in Loup City.

          She enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo, reading, going for walks, and singing in the church choir.

          Survivors include her husband of nearly 25 years, Jerome of Boelus; seven brothers and spouses, Ed and Marlene Lewandowski of Phillips, Adrian and Verna Lewandowski and Marvin Lewandowski, all of Grand Island, Charles Lewandowski of Pine, AZ, Duane & Janis Lewandowski of Boelus, Randy and Dawn Lewandowski of Seward and Tim Lewandowski of Grand Island; four sisters and spouses, Margene and Jerry Fassnacht of Palm Harbor, FL, Victoria and Michael Nelson of Boelus, Bonnie and John Bellamy of Cairo and Tammy and Brad Ashley of Holdrege; four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Mary Reimers, Wayne and Esther Reimers, Jack & Audrey Reimers, all of Boelus and Lynn Reimers of Sumner, NE; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Maxine Blackford of Kenesaw and Linda and David Reiser of Butte; and many nieces and nephews.

          She is proceeded in death by her parents, Leonard and Adeline Lewandowski; a brother, Darrell Lewandowski; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lee and Phyllis Reimers.
