August 31, 1933 ~ November 3, 2018 (age 85) 85 Years Old

David Imus Obituary

           David O. Imus, 85, of Wolbach died Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings.

           Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.  Roger Grim will officiate.  Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach. 

            Visitation will be on Friday, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. Military Honors will be provided by the Ray Mapes American Legion Post 236.

            Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.

            Dave was born on August 31, 1933 in Nance County near Fullerton to Clyde and Mabel (Kurth) Imus.

            He was raised in Belgrade and attended Belgrade Schools where he graduated in 1951.  He then worked with his father on the farm.

            In 1955 he entered the U.S. Army, transferring to the Navy in 1956.  He served until receiving his discharge in 1961.

            After his military service, Dave returned to farming near Belgrade.

            He was united in marriage to Judith Janc on August 23, 1958 in Lincoln.

            The couple lived in Lincoln until they moved to a farm northeast of Wolbach in 1962.  Dave worked in the Wolbach and Belgrade areas doing farming and working construction.  They moved to Palmer where he worked for Larry Happ and returned to Wolbach in 1999 where they lived for the remainder of their lives.

            Dave especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events and taking them fishing.  He played town team baseball and boxed in the Golden Gloves.  He also enjoyed fishing, watching baseball and football.

            Survivors include two daughters, Monica Sysouvanh of Grand Island and Kathy Lamberson of Hampton; one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Chris Imus of Wolbach; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Vicki Imus of Loveland, CO; and a sister, Kathryn Brown of Washington.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judith on October 28, 2005; two brothers, Dwight and Larry Imus; an infant brother; and a sister, Phyllis Cox.
