Delma May McCoig, 92 of Lincoln, formerly of St. Paul, died Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Country House in Lincoln.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Tim Johnson & The Rev. Dr. Russ Anderson will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. Tuesday at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul. Memorials are suggested to the Howard County Hospital, Elmwood Cemetery or the Alzheimer's Association.
Delma was born on September 15, 1926 in North Loup, NE to Cecil & Mamie (Gans) Kennedy. She was raised in North Loup and graduated from Callaway. She taught county school after high school into her first couple years of marriage. She was married on Easter Sunday, April 6, 1947 in Cairo, NE. Delma and Lloyd lived on the same farm for 60 years. Delma continued to live on the farm for 10 years after Lloyd passed away. Delma loved gardening, baking, and dancing. She will always be remembered for her peach cream pie.
Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Dr. Edward McCoig & Beth Nolan; daughters & sons-in-law, Yvonne & Charles Ziemba, Jan & Bill Peters, Diane & Mike Bell; sister, Dorphine Gyllstrom; sisters-in-laws, Wynona Kennedy & Edna Webb; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Delma was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Cecil Kennedy, & sister, Frances Minino.
