Welcome to the memorial page for

Frank D. Tuma

August 16, 1926 ~ February 24, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Frank D. Tuma, 90, of Cotesfield passed away peacefully Friday evening in his home with his family by his side.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.

Private services will follow and interment will be in the Cotesfield Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post #7029 of Ord.  Jeannie Leeper will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.

Frank was born August 16, 1926 near Cotesfield to Joseph and Bessie (Pavlik) Tuma.

He attended a small country school near Cotesfield until getting his High School diploma.

He was raised and worked on the family farm with his older brother Richard.

In 1951, Frank entered the United State Army and served in the Korean War until 1953.  He is a proud member of the VFW Post 7029 in Ord.

Frank returned to Cotesfield to continue to farm and ranch after the war.

He remodeled and built his home 1 ½ miles from his parents to assist them.

At the age of 39, he was united in marriage to Frances Jensen.  To this union one daughter, Linda Poss was born.

Frank was a respected and helpful man to his family, friends and neighbors in the community.  He was active in the Cotesfield community serving on the Cotesfield Bank, Farmer’s Co-op and Cotesfield Cemetery boards.  He was a substitute mail carrier for several years.

He enjoyed farming, reading, scrapbooking history, and firmly believed that no one should ever stop learning.

He was a loving and compassionate husband to his wife, Frances Tuma, presently residing at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island.

Franks compassion and appreciation for the land, animals and nature made him the perfect dad and father-in-law to Linda and Kent Poss of Cotesfield and grandpa for his three grandchildren, Chasatti Krzycki of Grand Island, Jessica Krzycki of Grand Island and Weston Poss of Cotesfield, and his three great grandchildren, Natalie, Sunni and Grayson.

Frank will remain in our hearts forever.  You are loved and missed very much.
