Lorraine Graviette Obituary

            Lorraine Graviette, 84, of Wolbach died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.

            Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.  Reverend Russ Anderson will officiate.  A private family burial will be held at a later date.

            Visitation will be on Monday, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

            Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.

            Lorraine was born October 19, 1934 in Port Austin, Michigan to John and Helen (Rice) Goretski.

            Lorraine was raised in Port Austin and then in Detroit.  She attended school in Detroit where she graduated in 1951.

            She was united in marriage to Wendell Graviette on May 2, 1953.

            She worked as a bookkeeper for Colonial Broach for 15 years.  The couple moved to Wolbach in 1974 where they operated the 5 G’s Tavern from 1974 until 1980.  Lorraine was then employed at Fonner Park until 2008.

            Her husband Wendell died on October 10, 2008.  Lorraine continued to live in Wolbach until the time of her death.

            Family was important to Lorraine as she loved to be with her boys, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed watching old TV shows, baking (especially banana cake), spending time with her friends over coffee and good conversation.  She loved her pets and her dog, Sam. 

            Lorraine was charitable person, giving to Boys Town, the local American Legion and Fire Department.

            She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul.

            Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Kim Graviette of Hastings, Greg and Nancy Graviette of Lincoln and Derek and Julie Graviette of Shawnee, KS.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Ron Goretski and Dennis Goretski, both of Warren, Michigan.

            She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wendell; and one brother, Gerald Goretski.
