Michael Milo McIntyre, 80, of St. Paul, formerly of Greeley & Wolbach, went to be with his Lord with his family by his side, on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the O'Neill Care and Rehabilitation Center in O'Neill, NE.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley, NE. Interment will be at the Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach, NE. Father Anthony Thekkekara and Father James Murphy will be officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Greeley American Legion Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley. A Rosary will follow at 6:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Michael was born on January 28, 1938 in Wolbach, NE to Oren & Mary (Killeen) McIntyre. He attended country schools in Wolbach, graduating from Wolbach Public School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1961-1967. Michael was united in marriage to Ruth Nass on February 28, 1962. To this union, a daughter, Rita was born. Michael was united in marriage to Sandra Gibbons on October 15, 1999.
Michael was a farmer & rancher for many years. He was very proud of his herd of Registered Polled Herefords. He raised quarter horses and enjoyed team penning. He loved to be around horses and cattle. He drove truck for Ag Services and was also employed by Country Partners. He idolized John Wayne and knew every word to John Wayne western movies. Michael’s greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family and friends. He truly enjoyed people and will be remembered by the saying, “He never met a stranger!”
Michael was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Greeley American Legion Club Post 186, Knights of Columbus, and the Saddle Club.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sandra McIntyre of St. Paul; mother, Mary McIntyre of St. Paul; daughter & son-in-law, Rita & Brad Loseke of LaVista; 2 grandchildren, Tyler Loseke & his fiancé, Ashlee Spaits of Merriam, KS and Tom Loseke of LaVista; step-daughters, Deborah Lucas of Leavenworth, WA and Tami Mullaney of St. Paul; step-sons & step daughters-in-law, Anthony & Kim Price of Bellevue, WA, Donald Price of Portland, OR, Patrick & Julie Price of Lompoc, CA; brothers & sisters-in-law, Tim & Barb McIntyre of Greeley, Dan & Barb McIntyre of St. Paul; sister, Colleen Killinger of St. Paul; 14 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Oren; brother-in-law, Jerry Killinger; nephew, Donald Killinger; & mother-in-law, Gertrude Bandt.
