Sherry D. Eppenbach

March 8, 1946 ~ June 3, 2017 (age 71) 71 Years Old

          Sherry D. Eppenbach, 71, of the Omaha area, died Saturday, June 03, 2017 at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

          Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church in St. Paul, NE.  Reverend Martha Voigt will officiate.  Inurnment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul, NE.

          The family will be present to greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the service time on Saturday.

          In lieu of flowers family requests memorials to The Huntingston’s Disease Foundation.

          Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.

          Sherry was born March 8, 1946 in Omaha.  She was adopted by Julius and Dorothy Thomsen on February 19, 1949.

          She grew up and attended school in St. Paul, NE. moving to Omaha for employment after graduation.

          On Aug. 21, 1965 she married David Osterman.  Her four children were born to this union; Stacey, Troy, Tamara and Tiffiny.

          Sherry was united in marriage to Gerry Eppenbach on July 22, 1983. The couple resided Grand Island and then moved to Omaha where they enjoyed their role as caretakers at the Summit.

          Gerry preceded her in death on June 7, 2012. Sherry was a nine-year survivor of Multiple Myeloma. She died because of her Huntington’s disease.

          Survivors include her children Stacey and Sonny Eppenbach of Lincoln, NE, Troy Eppenbach of Omaha, NE, Tamara and Scott Stipsits of Olatha, KS and Tiffiny and Daniel Casper of Council Bluffs, IA; Gerry’s children; Curt and Sheri Eppenbach of KS, Andrea and Tom Schlickbernd of NY, and Scott Eppenbach of NC; a sister-in-law Dorothy Eppenbach of Bellevue, NE, and a biological sister Patricia McCowan of IL.  She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
