Allen worked for Richard and Frank Tuma in Cotesfield. He was united in marriage to Delores Johnson on May 8, 1960, in Scotia. He continued to work for Tuma’s until moving to Scotia, where he was employed by the Scotia Grain Elevator. The family moved to North Loup, where he was a hog farmer. In 1974, they moved to Palmer, where Allen continued to do farm work for Ferris Farms, Dinsdale’s, Jim Forbes, Bob Forbes, and Shanks Mink Farms. He then retired and started fencing for Emil Dubas and Todd Hake. After retiring from fencing, he enjoyed following his grandkids around to their many activities until his health slowed him down.
