Arthur A. Hansen, 54, of Omaha died at his home in Omaha. He was received into heaven by his dad and both sets of grandparents.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. Father Ray Kosmicki will officiate. Inurnment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Arthur Allen Hansen was born January 22, 1956 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Art & LaVonne (Layher) Hansen and was the oldest of five sons.
His early childhood was spent in St. Paul where he began his schooling.
He grew up in the Catholic faith.
Art married Cindy Sack on May 7, 1977 in St. Paul, Nebraska. They were blessed with three sons Arthur Allen, Ryan Scott, and Corey Andrew.
Art worked for the Nebraska Department of Roads for over 20 years.
He was a member of the Eagles Club and the Community Alliance in Omaha.
He loved the outdoors and playing with his brothers. He loved his family and all of his grandparents, great aunts and cousins. He loved to fish and boat. Many weekends were enjoyed camping at the lakes. Art was a great water-skier and loved being outside more than anywhere.
Art was quite a green thumb for which it turned him into a wonderful gardener. He could make any plant grow when others gave up on it. He had a lot of patience when he gardened.
He loved playing pitch and poker, especially with his family and grandparents. He knew how to play the games.
He had close friends who were very special to him; Spanky, Buckwheat, Alfalfa, Porky and Darla... He loved you all.
Art is survived by three sons; Arthur Hansen of Lincoln, Ryan Hansen of Grand Island and Corey Hansen of St. Paul; two granddaughters, Shelby & Grace; one grandson, Deven Hansen; his former wife and friend, Cindy Hansen of St. Paul; mother, LaVonne Hansen of Seward; four brothers & spouses, Mike & Anne, Tim & Kay, Shawn & Annie, and Todd all of Seward; two aunts and an uncle, Connie Nielsen of Grand Island and Loretta & Lawrence Kowalski of St. Paul; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Art Hansen, and maternal grandparents Alvin & Alice Layher, paternal grandparents Albert & Victoria Hansen, special aunts and friends.
