CarolAnn Chiodo, beloved friend to so many, kind and loving daughter of Madeline (and the late Anthony) Chiodo, sister of Annie and Dan Carroll and Susan Cook. The very proud Aunt of Mark Cook (and the late Baby Jack Cook). Niece and cousin to many. Special niece of Darlene Christenson of Grand Island, Nebraska. CarolAnn held strong Catholic values and enjoyed roles at St. Irene Catholic Church in Warrenville, Illinois; Parish Counsel Leader, Extraordinary Minister, Minister of the Word, and volunteered in fundraising events. A strong supporter of Missionaries of the Sacred Heart in Aurora; served as the Annual Fundraiser Co-chairman. Strong Advocate and participant of Junior Achievement of Chicago and Teen Parenthood. Proud of American Soldiers, especially Daniel Christenson, Steven Welch, Greg Christenson, and Sargent Wayne Cornell, who died in action March 20, 2007. CarolAnn held a Master's Degree with Honors in Integrated Marketing Communication from Roosevelt University, and graduated from Retail Banking School of Management at the University of Virginia, and the Consumer Banking School at Bradley University. She was recently employed at Banco Popular North America as VP Regional Marketing and Communication Manager and previously at First Colonial Bank Shares as SVP Head of Regional Retail Banking. She was awarded the Athena Award Womens' Leadership Award for Oak Park and nominated as one of Chicago's Fabulous 50 Business Woman, by the Chicago Tribune Newspaper. CarolAnn lived a blessed life, living her life to the best of her ability while enjoying her journey. She enjoyed adventurous vacations, with many trips to Africa, Europe, and Western Asia and visiting the US States with her family and friends. She tried many different sports. Most recently, she found relaxation and love with horses where she rode English and Western Pleasure in Europe and Quebec, Canada. She was regularly found in Kirkland, Illinois, riding at On Eagles Wings Equestrian Center. CarolAnn enveloped herself in tacking horses, cleaning barns, and daily chores. She was found many times singing, hugging, and kissing the horses!
Private Services will be held at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elba. Private Graveside Services will be held at the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Elba.
