Cash Moraczewski, "Uncle Babe", 92, of St. Paul died Thursday, December 06, 2007 at Rose Lane Nursing Home in Loup City.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Reverends Ray Kosmicki and James Murphy will officiate. Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul with military honors at graveside by the Ashton American Legion Post #108. Visitation will be held on Sunday, from 4 - 8 p.m., with a wake service to be held at 7:30 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Mr. Moraczewski was born November 5, 1915 in the family home near Ashton to Joseph and Rose (Peters) Moraczewski.
Cash was raised on a farm on the Sherman and Howard County line near Ashton. He received his education at District #6.
In 1941, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served for 4 years.
He was united in marriage to Stella Dymek on May 27, 1946 in Omaha. The couple made their home in North Platte, where he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for over thirty years. In 1977 the couple moved to St. Paul where he retired.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul where he was very active in helping and supporting his church. He was also a member of the Ashton American Legion Post #108. Cash was very intelligent. He enjoyed working on clocks and was great at fixing a number of items. He was a jack of all trades and loved to go to sales. He enjoyed visiting with his family and friends.
His loving warm smile and kindheartedness will be greatly missed and remembered by all.
Survivors include two brothers and a sister-in-law, Harold Moraczewski of Ashton and Gene and Lorraine Moraczewski of Omaha; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Moraczewski of Loup City and Doris Moraczewski of Ashton; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Stella on August 16, 1990; six brothers, Raymond, Carl, Lawrence, Alexander, Rudolph and Thomas Moraczewski and an infant sister, Marie Moraczewski.
