Charlene Marie Lautenschlager, 62, of Palmer, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2026, at Bryan LGH Hospital - West in Lincoln.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Palmer. Pastor John Doolittle will be officiating. Char will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer. Visitation will be held from 5-8 P.M. on Friday, May 1, 2026, and one hour prior to services at the Church. Memorials are suggested the family for later designation. Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in Palmer is assisting the family. The family requests "casual blue" attire.
Charlene was born September 19, 1963, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to Richard and Shirley (Andersen) Reimers. She was confirmed May 21, 1978. She attended Grand Island Senior High School and graduated in 1981. She married Leslie Frank Lautenschlager Sr. on January 16, 1982, in Palmer. Char had the biggest heart and lived each day serving others.
She was a CNA/MA at the Grand Island Veteran’s Home and she truly loved taking care of other people. She was very crafty and worked at different craft stores doing what she loved. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and framing pictures. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her eleven grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Leslie “Les” Lautenschlager, Sr. of Palmer; one son and daughter-in-law, Leslie Lautenschlager, Jr. and Sonja, of Palmer; three daughters and sons-in-law, Lacy and Jamarr Tate of Palmer, Lois and Randy Soliday of Hope, Kansas, and Linsey and Julian Ingraham of Kearney, NE; eleven grandchildren, Lucie Lautenschlager, Lilly Lautenschlager, Taori Tate, Teha Tate, Tenaya Tate, Aiden Soliday, Elena Soliday, Claira Soliday, Justin Soliday, Hans Ingraham, and Abigail Ingraham; sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy and Duane Stevenson, Darlene Leeds, and Margorie Jordan; brother and sister-law, David and Julie Reimers of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marlene Reimers; brother, Gene Reimers; three brothers-in-law, Del Leeds, Randy Jordan, and Louis Lautenschlager; father-in-law and mother-in law, Leonard & Edna Lautenschlager.
