Charlette M. Gardner, 82, of Spearfish, South Dakota, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Brookefield Park in St. Paul.
Charlette Gardner, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, in Palmer, Nebraska, at the age of 82.
Born on June 28, 1942, in Belmont, Nebraska, to Milford and Alice Pierce, Charlette lived a life full of love, resilience, and dedication to her family. She was known for her warm heart, her incredible cooking, and her deep passion for horses.
Charlette worked in many restaurants throughout her life, where her culinary talents and work ethic left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Her kitchen was always a place of comfort, filled with the aroma of home-cooked meals and the laughter of loved ones.
She is survived by her children: William (Billy) Gardner, Kenny (Julie) Gardner, Floyd (Angela) Gardner, and Karen (Martin) Martinez; her siblings: Howard (Donna) Pierce, Jerry Pierce, Gene (Linda) Pierce, Jackie Hornkohl, and Marilyn (Gary) Moschowsky; as well as many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charlette was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Gardner; her sons, Chip Briscoe and Timothy Briscoe; her parents, Milford Pierce and Alice Hanson; and her siblings: Sherri Pierce, Wanda Weisgerber, Betty Caldwell, Linda Pierce, Melvin Pierce, Terry Pierce, David Pierce, and Harold Pierce.
A burial service will be held at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota, on July 11th at 12:30 PM, where Charlette will be put to rest beside her beloved husband, Bill. A celebration of life will follow at the home of Kenny and Julie Gardner, located at 2325 Hwy 14, Spearfish, SD.
Charlette’s legacy of love, strength, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered fondly and missed deeply.
