Delouris I. Beebe, 84, of Scotia died Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Greeley Care Home in Greeley.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Scotia. The Reverend Bruce Phillips will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Scotia.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Grand Island Humane Society, Scotia EMT's or to the Greeley EMT's.
Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements.
Delouris was born November 16, 1928 at Cotesfield, Nebraska. She was raised by her mother Bernice and step-father Charles "Jim" Carruth. With the exception of a few months she lived her entire life in Scotia.
She graduated from Scotia Consolidated High School in 1946.
Delouris began working at the age of 12 ½ for B.W. Ammerman as a telephone operator, working summers and after school. In 1947 she began working at the State Bank of Scotia and working there for 12 years.
She was baptized and joined the Scotia Methodist Church on March 27, 1948 and continued her membership for the rest of her life.
Delouris was united in marriage to Charles E. Beebe on August 20, 1952 at Scotia.
In 1959 she and her husband started the Beebe Agency where she was a real estate broker and insurance agent.
She was very active in the church, teaching, serving as WMW treasurer and President and other committees of the church. She served as Loup Cooperative Secretary for 25 years. She was a Past Worthy Matron, Associate Matron for other offices and Star Points of Crystal Chapter #43 Order of the Eastern Star, also served as Bethel Guardian of Job's Daughters.
Delouris loved politics and had met Robert Kennedy, Edward Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Hubert Humphrey, Ben Nelson and different Governors.
She enjoyed high school athletics and followed the local teams as well as the Schuyler High School teams for many years. She loved sewing, crocheting, reading, camping, gardening and dearly loved animals.
Delouris loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and all the rest of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Charles of Scotia; a daughter Laura Jean Beebe of Scotia; a son & daughter-in-law, Lyndon & Cindy Beebe of Schuyler and their children Hillary, Cole, Connor and Noah; one sister and brother-in-law, Janet & Leroy Wells of Grand Island; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry & Georgia Carruth of Scotia.
Delouris is preceded in death by her mother, step-father and a sister.
