Leona A. Prososki, 90, of St. Peter, MN passed away peacefully of natural causes on the afternoon of November 21, 2013 while being comforted by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Farwell. The Reverend Ray Kosmicki will officiate.
Interment will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery south of Farwell.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church.
Memorials are suggested to St. Anthony's Cemetery Fund.
Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of arrangements.
Leona was born June l6, l923 in Farwell, Nebraska, the daughter of Joseph and Prudence Gorecki.
Leona attended country school in Farwell. She then attended St. Paul Business College in St. Paul. Upon graduation she worked in Grand Island and Kearney then worked for the War Department in Washington D. C. and San Bernadino, California.
Leona married Raymond J. Prososki July 3, 1945 in Farwell.
They moved to Minnesota where they owned and operated a funeral home and furniture store until they retired. Upon retirement, they moved back to Loup City, Nebraska. After the death of her husband Raymond in 2007 she moved to St. Peter, Minnesota where she resided for the last 7 years.
Leona is survived by a two daughters, LaDonna and husband David Kiewatt of Wyoming, MN, Constance and husband Frank Weber of Kasota, MN; two sons Charles and wife Mary Prososki of Le Center, MN, and David and wife Marsha Prososki Circleville, KS; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister Elaine Rozmiarek and her husband Franklin of St. Paul; and a brother David Gorecki and his wife, Bunny of Farwell.
Leona is preceded in death by her husband Raymond J. Prososki; a brother Leonard Gorecki and her parents.
