Loris Ann Doncheske

November 19, 1933 — July 15, 2018

Loris Ann (Hake) Doncheske, 84 of Palmer, died Sunday, July 15, 2018 at home in Palmer.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 19, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Palmer.  Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Palmer.  Pastor Thomas Clark will be officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:30 – 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Palmer.  Greenway Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date, in lieu of flowers.

Loris Ann (Hake) Doncheske was born November 19, 1933 to John & Bertha (Butt) Hake in rural Central City, NE.

Loris graduated from Central City High School in 1951.  She then attended Clarkson school of Nursing in Omaha, NE following graduation.

On July 6, 1952, she was united in marriage to LeRoy Edward Doncheske at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, in Central City, NE.

The couple started their life together on the family farm, just East of Palmer.  To this marriage, 4 children were born: three sons, Lance, Lee, & Les; & one daughter, Lisa.  Loris was a wonderful mother & homemaker. In the 1960’s, she ventured into a skin care line called “Fashion two Twenty”, as an Independent Beauty Consultant.  In 1970’s, she then started her retail sales career in Grand Island, NE. She was employed by Woolco, Miller & Paine, & retired from Dillards where she served as the Bridal Consultant.

Loris was an avid piano player.  She taught several area students throughout the years.  She also provided organ music & accompaniment for scheduled worship services & other activities in support of the musical life of the church.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Palmer, where she was actively involved in LWML, Ladies Aid, Bible Coffee, & the funeral committee.  Outside of her church activities, she participated in the Merrick County Home Extension Club, Village Homemakers, Card Club, & the American Legion Auxiliary.  Loris also enjoyed monthly luncheons with her classmates & cousins.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Lance Doncheske of Palmer, Lee (Sami) Doncheske of Palmer, Les Doncheske of Palmer; daughter, Lisa Doncheske (Dave Jameson) of Lincoln; sisters-in-law, Maxine Dickersbach of Malvern, IA, Mary Jane Naish of Wymore, NE, Alpha Hake of Eureka, CA; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; & 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Loris was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers; Delmer Hake, LaRoy Hake, & Weldon Hake; daughter-in-law, Linda Doncheske; & many special aunts & uncles.
