Nellie T. Wegner, 97, of St. Paul, formerly of the Archer area, died Monday, January 25, 2010 at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.



Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the Zion United Methodist Church west of Archer. The Reverend Janet Burgel will officiate. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. in the Central City Cemetery.



Visitation will be held on Friday, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the church.



Memorials are suggested to Zion United Methodist Church, Palmer United Methodist Church or to the Palmer Public School.



Greenway Funeral Home in Palmer is in charge of arrangements.



Mrs. Wegner was born July 25, 1912 at Archer, NE to Captain and Nina Mae (Kronkright) Stalker.



Nellie attended country school near Archer.



She was united in marriage to Donald F. Wegner on June 3, 1936. They didn't have children of their own but always had nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews staying with them.



The couple farmed in Merrick County in the Archer area until 1992 when they retired and moved into Central City. In 2002 they moved to St. Paul to live at the Matelyn Retirement Community.



Her husband Donald died October 9, 2009. Nellie continued to live in St. Paul.



Nellie loved to read and sew. She and her husband had many friends that they played cards with.



Nellie was a member of Zion United Methodist Church of Archer and the United Methodist Women.



Survivors include nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; four sisters, Margaret Willits, Dorothy Johnston, Inez Speed and Mabel Moore; and five brothers, Paul, Tom, Thayne, Archie and Cap Stalker.
