Patricia "Pat" Mae Spotanski

Patricia “Pat” Mae Spotanski, 82, of Boelus, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at her home in Boelus, surrounded by her loving family.

A Celebration of Pat’s Life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul. Family will greet friends from 9:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. prior to services on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held at the Cameron Cemetery, south of Cairo, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

She was born on June 11, 1943, in Estelline, South Dakota to Lafayette and Jobina (Sponholtz) Ball. The Ball family moved to Howard, South Dakota, where Patricia graduated in 1962. Patricia married Sidney R. Moe in 1963, and had four children, Lori, Bruce, David, and Dale. She married Richard Spotanski on September 7, 2001, and they made a loving home in Boelus, Nebraska.

Patricia loved spending time with all her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She was an excellent cook who loved hosting many garage parties with friends and family. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. She enjoyed watching Husker sports and spent many hours putting jigsaw puzzles together in the winter. Patricia had a soft spot in her heart for animals. She rescued many cats over the years, as well as her beloved dog, Eddy, who was with her throughout her illness and never left her side. She truly loved flowers and watching birds, and she always looked forward to her weekly coffee group.

Patricia worked as a CNA for many years. When she moved to Boelus, she started working at Whitefoot Grocery in Boelus for 17 years.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 25 years, Richard Spotanski; her children, Lori (Charlie) Wortman of Ogallala, Bruce (Peggy) Moe of Ogallala, NE, Dale (Jody) Moe of Frederick, CO, Dane Spotanski of Grand Island, Kyle (Andrea) Spotanski of Boelus, Gregory (Talena) Spotanski of Avondale, AZ, Richard (Abbey) Spotanski of Gibbon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine Person of Hartford, SD, Judd (Janet) Ball of Pierre, SD, Dale (Dottie) Ball of Aberdeen, SD; grandchildren, Brent (Amanda) Wortman of Ogallala, Samantha Moe of North Platte, Michael Moe of Ogallala, Jaden (Ashley) Moe of Ogallala, Justine Moe of Frederick, CO, Tia Spotanski of NC, Tyler Spotanski of Grand Island, Hayley Spotanski of Farwell, Hanna, Brooklyn, Reagan, Rylee, Ashton, and Adaline Spotanski of Boelus; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, David Moe and Michael Spotanski; sister, Norma Magtiby; and her granddaughter, Arianna Moe.
