Robert D. Brahatcek (Bob), 67 of Blair, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at his home in Blair, surrounded by family.
Bob was born on May 31, 1958 in St. Paul, Nebraska, grew up in Omaha, and attended Millard High School. He had two daughters from his first marriage, one from his second, and married Elizabeth Cooper on August 9, 2008, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Together, they raised sons, Connor and Colin, in Grand Island.
His love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life—being together made him the happiest. His second love was always Husker football, cheering faithfully every year, no matter the outcome or the record.
He enjoyed attending rock concerts and comedy shows, going to Husker games, spending time outdoors, cooking his famous chili, and especially the Christmas season, when he couldn’t wait to watch everyone open their presents.
His friends and family will deeply miss his charismatic personality, his great comforting hugs, and the deep conversations he was never afraid to have—along with the advice he was always willing to give to anyone needing guidance.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Brahatcek and sons, Connor and Colin Brahatcek all of Grand Island; daughters, Jennifer (Ben) Bruning of Arlington, Anna Brahatcek (Raymond James) of Blair and Raquel (Shawn) Kelly of Fremont; sister, Dianne (Reg) Lindholm of Oldsmar, FL; 11 grandchildren; and cousins.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, David Brahatcek.
Celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in St. Paul, NE.
Memorials may be directed to the Lied Transplant Center at UNMC in Omaha, where Bob received a liver transplant in 2024. Online condolences may be left at www.mosermemorialchapels.com or www.jacobsengreenway.com
