Robert "Bob" R. Rother, 71 of Genoa, passed away on April 14, 2026, at the Community Hospital - LTC in Genoa.
He was born November 4, 1954, in Wolbach, NE., to Henry and Ethel Rother. He was one of eighteen children born to Mr. and Mrs. Rother. He attended school in Wolbach and graduated from Wolbach High School. Bob worked for Lindsay Manufacturing for many years while raising his family alongside his wife Rhonda. He was united in marriage to Rhonda Elaine Hawthorne on April 4, 1975, and was her beloved husband for 51 years.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his three children. When the kids were young, Bob and his family would go on yearly vacations to Minnesota with Rhonda’s brother and sister-in-law, creating many happy memories as a family. Bob was happiest when he was spending time with his beloved grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Rhonda, two sons and daughters-in-law, John & Stephany Rother of Columbus, NE, Les & Becky Rother, of Columbus, NE; one daughter, Janelle Perez, of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Larisa, Owen, Jadyn, Jacob, Dominic, Josie, Jersey, and Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ethel Rother; as well as his brothers, Johnny, Eddie, and Doug Rother.
Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at 10:00 am, Monday, April 20, 2026, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul, Nebraska. A Rosary will be held at 3:30 pm followed by a Visitation from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul. He will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Wolbach. A lunch will be held at the Wolbach Community Center in Wolbach following the Graveside Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
