Shelby A. Koperski, 10, of Elba died Monday, February 27, 2012 near Elba in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday at the United Methodist Church in St. Paul. The Reverends Michael Chase and Scott Jones will officiate. Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Shelby was born June 13, 2001 at Grand Island, Nebraska. She was adopted by Alan & Anne (Mundt) Koperski on May 8, 2003.
Shelby attended school at Head Start in St. Paul and she was currently attending school at Elba where she was in the 4th grade.
She was a member of the Ord Christian Church and the Loup River Pals 4-H Club.
Shelby enjoyed 4-H, playing with dolls, dancing in Just 4 Kicks in North Loup, volleyball and basketball. She was a very outgoing person and made friends easily. She loved the outdoors and liked four-wheelers and driving the golf cart. Shelby participated in the Sing Around Nebraska group. Shelby loved to be with her friends.
Shelby is survived by her parents, Alan & Anne Koperski of Elba; two sisters, Amy Koperski of Elba and Hallie DeLeon of Grand Island; her grandparents, Stan & Gladyce Koperski of Cairo, Millie Mundt of Alliance and Albert & Diane DeLeon of Grand Island; birth mother, Morgan Rapp and two brothers, Nicholas & Aiden Rapp all of Kearney; her birth father, Billy Rapp; and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Arley Mundt; an infant sister Raine Rapp and an uncle Emilio DeLeon.
