A. George Cyboron Obituary

Adolph “George” Cyboron, Jr. 81, of  Boelus, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society in Ravenna, Nebraska. 

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 8,2021 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Nysted, Nebraska.  Pastor Bob Carlson will be officiating.  Burial will be at Loup Fork Cemetery near Boelus following the services.  Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul.  Masks are recommended, but not required.   Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated to Faith Lutheran Church in Nysted, or the various American Legion and D.A.V. organizations.

Mr. Cyboron was born to Adolph G. Cyboron, Sr. and Rose (Hansen) Cyboron on May 5, 1939, in Denver, Colorado.  His family moved to a farm near Boelus, Nebraska where he grew up with his brothers and sisters.  George graduated from Boelus High School in 1957. 

George entered the U.S. Army on March 20, 1963.  He was a marksman and was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged on March 9, 1965.

He returned to Boelus, Nebraska to start farming after the service.   George and Kathryn McConaughey were married April 30, 1967 in Aurora, Nebraska. They lived on a farm they purchased in 1967, the family farm, and raised their children Scott and Victoria.  They milked cows while they farmed.  When they retired, George became Commander of the American Legion Post 201 – Boelus, Nebraska, American Legion Department of Nebraska Commander (2011-2012), and was a lifetime member of D.A.V. Chapter 41 of Broken Bow.  He met many people across the state with his involvement in the Legion and D.A.V.  It was a very important part of his life.  The couple are members of Faith Lutheran Church of Nysted. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kathryn of 53 years; son and daughter-in-law, Scott & Amy Cyboron of Broken Bow; daughter, Victoria ‘ Vicki’ Cyboron of Omaha; four grandchildren, Josh, Alyssa, Kassidy & Evan Cyboron, all of Broken Bow; brother and sister-in-law, Jim & Sandra Cyboron of Grand Island; sister and brother-in-law, Pat & Glen Hansen of Farwell; sister-in-law, Linda Cyboron of Edmunds, WA; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law,  Verna Plambeck of Omaha, Tom & Bette McConaughey of Ocala, Florida, Dianna McConaughey of Aurora; numerous nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dean; and brother-in-law, Jim Plambeck.
