Dennis Anderson Obituary

Dennis D. Anderson, 70 of Holdrege, NE, died on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the Phelps Memorial Hospital in Holdrege, Nebraska.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the First Baptist Church – 2110 Sunset Drive in Holdrege.  Dr. Harold J. Berry will officiate.  A reception will follow in the Banquet Room at the Rodeway Inn - 420 Broadway Street in Holdrege.

Visitation will be from 4-7:00 P.M. on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Holdrege. 

Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.  Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul is assisting the family.

Dennis D. Anderson was born in Columbus, Nebraska to Durl & Mary Ellen (Cram) Anderson on June 13, 1951.  He received his education in a one room schoolhouse outside of Meadow Grove, Nebraska.  At one time the only 3 students in the school were his sisters, Bobbie, Jo Ann, and Dennis.  After that, the family moved to O’Neil.  He finished his high school years at Wood River High School.  He had a love for hunting and fishing since he was young.  His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 
He married Patricia “Penny” LeRoy on September 15, 2001 in South Dakota.  They have lived in Holdrege where he worked at R&J Repair in Holdrege.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Penny of Holdrege, son and daughter-in-law, Trevor “T.R.” & Cassie Anderson of Callaway; daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly & Dan Travis of North Platte and JoLynn & Mark Rupe of Hildreth; sisters and brother-in-law, Bobbie Carlson, Jo Ann Hauck, Gerrie Roberson, Becky & Earl Johnson, Brenda Anderson, Sheila Anderson, and Shelley St. John; grandchildren, Taylor Yonkers, Cole Rupe, Samantha Husen, Eric Travis, and Braxton Anderson; great-granddaughter, Rowan Yonkers.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Durl and Mary Ellen; and brother-in-law, Scott St. John.
