Doris J. Obermiller 90, formerly of Dannebrog, passed away from this life on Friday, August 13, 2021, after residing at Heritage at Sagewood in Grand Island since September 2018.
Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul.
Services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul. A Committal Service will be at the Kelso Cemetery, northeast of Boelus. Pastor Bob Carlson will be officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Boelus Community Center. Memorials are suggested to Faith Lutheran Church in Nysted or the Asera Care Hospice.
Doris was born to Fred and Alma (Ruthstrom) Lemburg on July 29, 1931 in Boelus. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Doris was raised on a farm near Boelus where she completed her education. Doris married Don Obermiller on August 28, 1949 at Faith Lutheran Church in Nysted where they remained members of the church. To this union, the couple welcomed two sons. The family began their farm life near Boelus and lived in the Dannebrog area the remaining years of their life with commitment to family and church. Doris served in numerous ways at the church. Doris enjoyed family and friends, outings in ways of camping and traveling.
She is survived her children, Rodney (Mary) of Sheridan, WY, and Brad (Deb) of Cairo; grandchildren, Kristy Obermiller of Wood River, Kory (Russ) Knight of Gering, and Kassie (Steve) Hancock of St. Paul; great-grandchildren, Kyla Knight, Ericka Moffett, Rice Knight, Emersen Hancock, and Jarret Hancock; and brother, Russ (Charlene) Lemburg of Dannebrog.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; parents, Fred and Alma; five brothers; and three sisters.
