Susan Armstrong Obituary

Susan L. Armstrong (Buffington) 71 of Stromsburg, NE, died July 9, 2021.

She was born December 4, 1949 in Alliance, Nebraska.  Sue was the daughter of Dean and Maxine Buffington from Osceola, NE.  She was the Granddaughter of Earl and Ollie Buffington from Scotia, NE.

She attended elementary school in Alliance, NE.  Until moving to Osceola in 1959.  Sue graduated from Osceola High School in 1968.  She attended Kearney State College.

She married Darwin Hahn from Polk, NE in 1968.  In 1980 Sue remarried Daniel J Giese from Grand Island, NE.  They Co-Owned Ideal Dry Cleaners in Grand Island.

In 1991 Sue married George C. Armstrong from Omaha, NE.  She became a certified instructor and consultant for the International Fabricare Institute in Washington D.C. She Co-Owned Armstrong Professional Dry Cleaners in Omaha until it was sold to the University of Nebraska Med Center in 2012.

She was appointed an Admiral in the Great Navy of The State of Nebraska in 2001 by Governor Johannes, for extensive volunteer services at Joslyn Castle in Omaha when it was being maintained by the College of Architecture and the State of Nebraska. 

She lived in Florida for two years before returning to Polk County to live until her death.

She enjoyed spending her summers in Estes Park, Colorado with her children as they were growing up. 

Her greatest blessings in life was her two loving children and four beautiful grandsons. 

She is survived by her daughter, Sara S. (Giese) Moody from Grand Island, NE. and her son, George William Giese III from Omaha, NE.  Four wonderful grandsons, Will, Ace, Duke and Atticus Giese.  And niece, Tara Buffington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and nephew, Tory Dean Buffington.  

She lived by the quote from the Bible, “Be Still and Know that I am God.”

There will be no services.  Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St, Paul is assisting the family.
