          Carl A. Beed, 67, of Palmer died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at his home in Palmer.

          Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the First Church of Christ in Palmer.  Reverend Jerry Quandt will officiate.  Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors by Burton Beyer American Legion Post #120 of Palmer and the Nebraska National Guard Funeral Honor Guard.

          Visitation will be on Sunday, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., at the church.

          Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.

          Greenway Funeral Home in Palmer is taking care of the arrangements.

          Mr. Beed was born May 12, 1949 in Tilden, NE to Charles and Fern (Spar) Beed.

          Carl attended elementary school in Tilden, Cato-Meridian School in Cato, New York and Fullerton.  Moving to Palmer with his family, he attended junior high and high school in Palmer, graduating in 1968.  While attending school, he was employed at Lemmerman Hatchery in Palmer.

          He was united in marriage to Bonnie Davison on February 21, 1969 in Palmer.

          For a short time, Carl worked at Hartford Service Station in Palmer.  He then entered the U. S. Army on June 19, 1969.  Carl served part of his military service in Germany.  He received his discharge on June 10, 1971.  He served in the Army Reserves until June 18, 1975.

          After his military service, Carl and Bonnie moved to Palmer.  Carl was employed at Case New Holland in Grand Island for 35 years, retiring in 2006.  Carl began working at Bomgaars in St. Paul in 2007, continuing until he was forced to retire because of health reasons.

          Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and woodworking.  Carl loved to be with his grandchildren, teaching them to hunt and fish.  He also spent many hours following his grandchildren’s sporting events.

          He was a member of the First Church of Christ and the Burton Beyer American Legion Post #120, both of Palmer.  He also belonged to the NRA.

          Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of Palmer; a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Rita Beed of Kimberly, Idaho; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Nathan Glause of Palmer; four grandchildren, Devin Beed and his wife, Alexis and their son Jace, Dalton Beed, Kordell Glause and Katelyn Glause.  He is also survived by eight brothers and spouses, Eugene and Louanna Beed of Tonawanda, NY, Duane and Myrna Beed of Fullerton, Arthur and Kathy of Alda, Richard Beed of North Platte, Dennis and Delia Beed of Grand Island, Glen and Sue Beed of Omaha, Donnie Beed of Grand Island and Elwin Beed of Palmer; three sisters, Shirley Yerton of Manlius, NY, Carol Seim and Carolyn Kunze of Grand Island; his mother-in-law, Louise Davison of Palmer and his two canine kids, Molly and Duke.

          He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Delores Landauer and her husband, Don; two nephews, Ricky Beed and Roger Kunze; two nieces, Audra Shively and Felicia Houston; three brothers-in-law, Jim Kunze, Bob Seim and Ray Yerton; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Beed and a father-in-law, Carl Davison.
