So sorry to hear of the passing of sweet Dorothy. Her husband John and my father John fought in WWII together in the 804th Tank Destroyer Batallion. Through many decades, Dorothy and my mother corresponded every year at Christmastime. We were always amazed at Dorothy's unwavering faith, optimism, and strength as she walked through many tragedies and hard times. When my parents passed away, I took over writing to Dorothy at Christmas, sometimes at Easter, and we would speak on the phone from time to time. She was such a wonderful encouragement to me. She told me that people called her the "nicest lady in town". I believe it. To me she was the nicest lady in the whole country! We often talked about the one time that she and John came to New Mexico and attended the 804th reunion and got to visit with my parents. She affectionately dubbed it the "meeting of the Johns". I can't help but think that right now she is Polka dancing with her beloved John in heaven. I will greatly miss this very special lady.

My deepest sympathy to your family in the loss of your Mother Dorothy. It was an honor meeting you Cindy and your Mother. My volunteer time is so very rewarding, as when I left her home that day, she gave me a hug, those are the times we remember fondly. May you find comfort and peace that she is in her forever home now with the Lord. God Bless
Expression of Sympathy
