You must be so proud. I am praying for healing for your broken hearts. It is lovely to read about him. Again all your family must be so proud.

Coach Mathews was my sophomore basketball coach at Hastings High. He was a motivator, always wanted the best out of us, a true competitor and didn't like to lose. I appreciate him being my coach and an influence on my life. You will be missed Coach Mathews. Thank you for touching my life.

I was shocked to hear about Mark's passing. He and I were roommates in college and I will always cherish the time I spent with Mark. His zest for life was infectious to everyone he met. We reconnected a few years ago at a Hastings College Homecoming where we proudly represented the KTO fraternity at halftime! I was so happy I could introduce my wife, Traci, to Mark and she could finally see the legend for real. Mark, I am going to miss you. My heart-felt condolences go out to his entire family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Your family and the team have been in our prayers. Thomas and Mark have known each other for years when he was at Peru and for the past several years our daughter Patricia has enjoyed his hitting camps. She always looked forward to his instruction and if he was at her games she was always excited for him to give her some input. At one of the camps she smashed the volleyball they were using for a hitting drill. He gave it to her to keep. I think she will treasure it even more now. Just sharing in hopes it is a comfort knowing that others celebrate the life and have such great respect for the man. He gave so much more than he had too to Peru, sports and the athletes he met along the way. I am very sure he knew no other way.

My sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Mark. The loss of our dear loved ones can be very difficult and distressing to cope with. True comfort comes in knowing that Jehovah ( Psalm 83 : 18 - God's name ) is not the cause of our pain, suffering and death, Hebrews 2 : 14 tells us the source. May you be comforted in knowing that Jehovah hates death ( 1 Corinthian 15 : 26 ) and promises to eliminate death forever and bring ones sleeping in death back to life on a cleansed earth. ( John 17 : 3; Isaiah 25 : 7,8; Revelation 21 : 3-5; Acts 24 : 15; Psalms 37 : 10,11, 29 ). I hope these few scriptures help to soothe your hearts and bring you comfort, peace and a hope. Sincerely
